Sony professional HDV is an affordable entry point to the world of High Definition. Sony HD video cameras offer 1080 HD recording onto a standard DV format cassette and compatibility with DVCAM. Sony HDCAM is probably the world's most established HD format camera with superb picture quality and an unmatched track record for video and film production including prestigious TV programmes.
Sony XDCAM HD cameras . Recording to SxS cards, this format offers a fast workflow with non-linear acquisition.
Panasonic's P2 HD cameras offer tape-less workflow with compact size, light weight, large capacity and expandability to bring a new era of mobility, especially to news gathering.
JVC's professional series cameras, offer both DV and Pro-HD recording, as well as to HCSD cards.
ICONIX manufacture the World's smallest High Definition Remote Camera Head. The multiformat HD remote camera head uses three 1/3" progressive 16:9 CCD imagers inside a compact camera head. It captures images in all common HD resolutions including 720p, 1080i and 1080p at all frame rates: 24, 25, 30, 50 and 60. A 1/3" C-mount accommodates a variety of HD lenses.

Sony NXCAM format - their first professional AVCHD camcorder. It can record stunning quality 1920 x 1080 images at 24Mbps (50i or 25p), as well as supporting 720/50p and Standard Definition recording. Operational flexibility is further enhanced by support for dual media. The primary recording media is Memory Stick Pro consumer memory cards, which are affordable, readily available worldwide and subject to continuous development. There is also an all-new optional 128Gb Flash Memory Unit which offers 11 hours recording time at 24Mbps. As with Sony's HYBRID HDV range, usage of the media is designed to be as flexible as possible - allowing simultaneous recording to dual media or a choice between media depending on your requirements.
Sony XDCAM EX format transforms and streamlines production. The combination of a file-based system with memory-based SxS ExpressCard media recording opens up new ways of working. It exploits the high performance of SxS PRO memory cards, which combines a state-of-the-art, non-linear XDCAM workflow with good HD picture quality.
An HDV camcorder is a great way to enter the world of High Definition, with all the benefits of tape-based recording offering great pictures, ultimate portability and low operating costs. AVCCAM records amazing high definition video on the same reusable, widely available SD cards as a digital still camera. At 1080i, AVCCAM can offer four quality levels to extend recording time or address storage requirements.
P2 cards fit neatly into the slots of P2 series camera equipment and record DVCPRO50/DVCPRO/DV data. The P2 card's compact size, light weight, large capacity and robust structure bring speed and mobility to so many types of production.
JVC makes a wide range of high quality, technically innovative solutions for many broadcast or security, professional and industrial applications.

Largely replacing the historical favourites, Nickel Cadmium and Nickel Metal Hydride, Lithium Ion systems offer the best power-to-weight ratio in an efficient and compact package. Choose a low capacity to run a portable product (eg: hand-held monitor, or audio mixer) or a high capacity to run a tripod mounted power-thirsty High Definition camera. "It all starts with the glass". How true! In today's High Definition world this phrase could not possibly be truer. The effect of poor quality lenses and lens accessories will be multiplied in HD. Only glass specifically designed for High Definition use will be good enough. Consider the finest grade glass, cutting edge HD design, low geometric distortion, good off-axis performance, low chromatic aberration and flatness of field. We support lens accessories from Sony, Century Optics and 16 x 9 Inc.
Consider a Matte Box both for its ability to provide controllable shading from unwanted light, as well as being able to hold a selection of camera filters. Most camcorders and lenses will allow the Matte Box to clip on the front, or be mounted on bars. Bar mounts on camcorders allow for speedy addition or removal of lens accessories. Popular filters include grades for deepening skies, controlling exposure and softening focus.
