Panasonic begins Olympic countdown
Camera company Panasonic has begun its countdown to the London 2012 Olympic Games with the launch of a promotional event.
The official partner in the audio and visual equipment category for the tournament has announced its Get Ready for London 2012 event will take place on July 27th 2010.
It will be held in London's Trafalgar Square and there will be a range of different
Panasonic camera exhibitions.
One of these is the 3D Future Zone, which features six pods allowing passers-by to experience the digital company's latest HD 3D plasma home theatre systems.
Keith Evans, managing director of Panasonic UK, said: "We have been supporting the visual development of the Olympic Games and we believe that 3D will be the future gold medal standard for experiencing every moment of the Olympic Games."
He added that 3D broadcasting of the tournament will be "the next best thing to actually being there".
The camera firm also showed its support for the Olympics last month, when it honoured British gold medallist Amy Williams with the latest Panasonic HD 3D TV and 3D Blu-ray player for her outstanding achievement at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
