Sony registers patent for split screen 3D TV Image
Digital giant Sony has registered patents for the latest 3D technology, which would allow users to split their television screens so they could watch two sets of 3D content at the same time.

The television company wants to take 3D technology to the next step with its latest development.

A spokesperson for the firm said that the advancement would allow more than one viewer to watch the 3D television screen and see completely different pictures.

"An image from a first video signal corresponding to a left perspective of a scene and an image from a second video signal corresponding to a right perspective of the scene are alternately displayed with the display," it was commented.

Viewers will then be able to watch different channels on the same set by wearing unique shutter glasses and using individual earphones.

This technological advancement will not come as a surprise to Stuff.tv's Fraser MacDonald, who recently said that the future of broadcasting is in 3D.

Last week, the digital company received another boost after cameraman Assan Saine told Producer magazine that the Sony XDCAMEX is one of the most popular camcorders used by videographers. ADNFCR-3054-ID-800006824-ADNFCR
